A software solution for managing natural gas business transactions from the wellhead to the burner tip. Features for Producers, Marketers, Energy Service Companies, Gathering Systems and Large End Users such as Co-Generation, Electric Power and Gas Utilities.

GASTAR looks at the data flow for natural gas transactions from the point of origination, production operations, through the pipelines to the point of sale. For convenience, the GASTAR Suite of modules is presented to represent the target markets for the program. Shown at the right is the gas scheduling screen used for both the gathering and the transmission pipelines and under that, the GASTAR Modules.

Producer/Marketer: This application covers two business areas. The first is the WH marketing of oil and gas, which is covered under the discussion of the PRIME-DB WH-MKT Module. The second business process is the management of WH nominations to a gathering pipeline and the associated reporting to Joint Interest partners.

Gas Marketing: For companies that buy and sell natural gas at any position on a pipeline, GASTAR can support the day trading and gas control business practices. From Net-Back purchases at the WH to LDC gas supply acquisitions and off-system sales, GASTAR supports the transactions.

Gathering System: GASTAR-GTS is a comprehensive end-to-end solution that covers all transaction-related aspects of the shipper/transporter business practices, such as, Contracts, Scheduling, Measurement and Invoicing.

Gas Utility (LDC) Supply and Distribution: GASTAR-LDC is used to manage gas acquisition, storage, city gate balancing, WACOG cost, and on system distribution to large end users. (commercial, manufacturing, etc.)

Counter Parties (BA) and Contracts: These programs are generic to each of the GASTAR variations and have been upgraded to handle additional contract types, such as Service and Procurement. This non-specific version of the Contract Management program is discussed under the main OGCIS Option.

Transaction Accounting: GASTAR provides a Contract based transactional Accounting Module for managing the Accounts Payable and Receivable business process. Each Contract transaction is managed as a separate accounting entry, referenced to the Contract, the G/L Account and the internal GASTAR package number. Sales invoicing and expense reconciliation are supported with month end accrual accounting at the Contract, Contract Type and G/L account level.
